Personal training involves one-on-one sessions with a certified fitness professional who creates personalized workout plans based on your fitness goals, current fitness level, and any special considerations or limitations you may have.
What should I expect during my first session?
The first session typically includes an assessment of your current fitness level, a review of your health history and goals from the Potential Client In-Take Form, and (time permitting) a light demo workout to evaluate your movement patterns and fitness baseline.
How often should I train with my trainer?
The frequency depends on your goals, budget, and schedule. Most people start with 2-3 sessions per week.
2. Logistics and Scheduling
How long are the personal training sessions?
Sessions are usually 50 minutes to one hour long. 30 minute sessions are NOT available currently.
What should I wear to a personal training session?
Wear comfortable, breathable workout clothes and appropriate athletic shoes. Avoid restrictive clothing and accessories that might interfere with movement.
Do I need to bring any equipment?
No, all necessary equipment will be available in the gym already. The only thing you should bring is a full water bottle and a willingness to train hard!
What if I need to cancel or reschedule a session?
Aplomb Training’s cancellation policy is simple: cancel with at least a 24 hours' notice to avoid a cancellation fee. Failure to cancel before a 24 hours’ notice will result in that session being marked complete and no refund will be granted.
3. Health and Safety
What if I have an injury or medical condition?
The Potential Client In-Take Form will cover any concerns pertaining to injury or medical conditions to then be discussed during our first session. I will construct programs that work with any ailment(s) and we can discuss whether that said-condition is something you’d like to work on improving or only work around it.
How do you ensure my safety during workouts?
I will conduct a thorough assessment during our first session and am vigilant on making sure you keep proper form during exercises as well as lift appropriate weights for your skill level.
4. Goals and Results
How soon will I see results?
Results vary based on individual goals, consistency, and effort. Generally, you might start noticing changes in strength, energy levels, and inner confidence within a few weeks, with more visible, physical changes occurring over a few months.
Can personal training help with weight loss?
Yes, I can design programs that incorporate cardiovascular exercise, strength training, and nutritional advice to help with weight loss. Many clients come to me looking to lose fat and it is very achievable no matter your age, starting weight, and/or any restrictions you bring.
Can personal training help with weight gain?
Yes, weight gain and muscle building programs are very common for women looking to build mass. While the programs and dietary needs look very different from the weight loss athletes the foundational building blocks are similar.
How will my progress be tracked?
I will track your progress through regular assessments, body measurements, strength and endurance tests, and other metrics relevant to your goals. Programs and weights used will be tracked in my trainer app that every client will have access to.
5. Customization and Personalization
Will my workout plan change over time?
Yes, as you progress and your fitness level improves, I will adjust your plan to continue challenging you and to help you achieve your goals. Every 4 to 6 weeks you’ll be assigned a new mesocycle or “block” as they are commonly called.
Can I get a personalized nutrition plan?
At this point in time I do not provide full nutrition plans but will give you dietary and nutrition advice that will pertain to your goals and answer any of your questions. But for a detailed and personalized nutrition plan, consider consulting a registered dietitian or nutritionist.
Can personal training be tailored for specific goals, like sports performance or rehabilitation?
Yes, personal trainers and coaches can specialize in different areas, such as sports performance, rehabilitation, or general fitness. If sports performance or rehab is a goal of yours please list it in the Potential Client In-Take Form and we will discuss an effective and safe way to achieve that.
6. Financial Questions
How much will personal training cost?

Is online training nearly as affective as in-person training?
Yes, while there is a decrease in live monitoring and direct form correction you will still meet with me once a week over a phone call or Zoom to discuss your week’s workouts, progress, questions/concerns, and anything you want to tell me! You also can record your exercises and send them to me so I can check your form, cadence, etc. and discuss fixes with you over SMS messaging.
